Visiting Fellowship

The New Islamic Public Spheres Programme invites applications from scholars and practitioners of Middle Eastern media working within any of the Programme's areas of interest.

Deadlines for applications are: 1 April and 1 October.

Visiting Fellows will spend between three weeks and three months at the Programme working on a research project. In addition, candidates are encouraged to suggest specific activities while at the Programme such as giving a lecture series, organising a research seminar, or co-authoring a scientific article with one of the Programme's permanent researchers.

Applications are considered in three categories: PhD fellows, visiting researchers, and Middle Eastern media personnel. Applications from students and scholars not holding a PhD degree will only be considered if they are enrolled in a PhD programme.

The Fellowship includes transportation to and from Copenhagen, and carries a research stipend commensurate with professional experience and length of the Fellowship. The Fellow is entitled to use the libraries of Copenhagen University, and will be given an office with the Programme in the Department of Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies. Partial funding is welcomed but not essential.

Applications including an introduction letter, a short research proposal, a curriculum vitae, and if pertinent a letter of recommendation should be sent by email to
