Navigating Journalistic Spaces: Muslims in the British Media

Processes of globalisation and technological developments have had a significant impact on both professional practices and media content. These trends have taken place against a background of patterns of transnational migration increasing the cultural complexity and diversity of European societies. Within this context there has been a burgeoning of minority media. This paper explores how Muslim producers negotiate their identities in various media environments in order to create a space in which to construct their own narratives and contributions to social discourse.
